The collaborative project between Dustin Tebbutt, LANKS, Hayden Calnin and Xavier Dunn deals in raw and colourful stories of the heart woven through cinematic pop songs.
Individually as artists, they have had a combined +250 million global streams, multiple sold-out Australian tours and songs consistently on triple j rotation. They have released over 15 records, and have written, produced or featured on tracks with artists including Flight Facilities, Jack River, KLP, Didirri, Thelma Plum and Nina Las Vegas.
They have developed audiences onstage and online with performances at Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, Groovin The Moo and Lost Paradise and through sync placements on TV shows and movies including Suits, Teen Wolf, Jasper Jones and Grown-ish.
These musicians have proved that they can build meaningful connections with audiences and have their music heard. But it’s only now, coming together to create something that is all of them as much as it is none of them, that their collective experience and creativity can really show its colours.
Over a few months and multiple trips to Dustin’s studio on the Central Coast, and with a healthy amount of isolation, creativity and whisky, a self-produced album started to form. The process was addictive, exciting and let everyone step outside the bounds of their own solo music, push each other, and work in a way where the outcome was yet to be defined.
The resulting record is an exciting combination of four different voices rolling into one, through a lush sonic landscape that sways between intimate pianos and yearning guitars, cinematic arrangements, and driving electronics.
Ok Moon is launching in February, 2019.
